Waze: what you get before you install

You are about to open Waze Navigation & Live Traffic on Google Play. It is published by Waze and has more than 500 million downloads.

• Free: GPS navigation, live traffic, rerouting, community reports, speed limit alerts and camera alerts where they are allowed.
• Paid: the listing shows no in-app purchases.
• Ads: yes, the listing says the app contains ads.
• Permissions: location for navigation; microphone only if you want to report with your voice.

First minute after opening: while still parked, add your home address, then go to Settings > Alerts and reports and choose which camera and hazard alerts you want to hear. Check your local rules on camera alerts first if you are outside the US.
